Easy broccoli side
Easy broccoli side
This recipe came about by accident. I was getting my food ready for work tonight, and I wanted to take broccoli. But I wanted it to be good, not just fair, so I came up with this super fast, super easy, and super delicious recipe.
From start to finish it only took about 10 minutes, and because of that, I was able to dedicate more time to the rest of my meal. (SUSHI!!)
From start to finish it only took about 10 minutes, and because of that, I was able to dedicate more time to the rest of my meal. (SUSHI!!)
So, here are the ingredients and easy instructions
Ingredients:
1 lb. broccoli, broken down into bite sized pieces
2 teaspoons chopped garlic
1 cup water
2 tablespoons mirin
1 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
1/2-1 tsp. red pepper flakes
2 tsp. maple syrup
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
salt and pepper to taste
In a medium saucepan, combine the broccoli, garlic, and water. Cover and place on the stove over medium high heat. Bring to a full boil, and let cook for 5 minutes.
While it is cooking, combine the remaining ingredients in a large ziplock bag.
When the broccoli is cooked for 5 minutes, drain well, and toss them into the ziplock bag. Seal it and shake the broccoli into the marinade. Do this for a good 2 minutes, so it is all well covered.
Pour out into a bowl, and serve hot. Or, you can cover and put in the fridge and serve cold.
That is it, just that easy. I will make this to serve over rice, and make a meal.

Thank you Michael! Such an easy, healthy recipe!
